Solar Panels at PS40

In our last Eco Team meeting, we had a special guest named Paul Hanson. Paul is a scientist that was generous enough to come to PS40 and talk to us about ways that we could reduce our carbon footprint on the environment.

We asked Paul: "Why would we want to install solar panels?" His response: "Solar energy could power all of the lights in the school and keep our 28 desktop computer lab for 24 hours. That's huge!"

One of the ways that we could do this is by installing solar panels on top of the school building. This is a longterm project that will take time. Our goal is to do it within 5 years.
